Starting Off On The Right Size Dirt Bike

Are you considering getting your little guy a new dirt bike to ride around on. Bring your son along when you gorail riding, get him a nice 50cc dirt bike to tag along on. When deciding on getting a dirt bike for your child, size matters. If your son is anywhere from 8-14 years of age, a 50cc dirt bike is generally a good size to purchase.

50cc dirt bikes are powerful enough to get your little guy most anywhere he needs to go in the trails, yet not powerful enough where he is threatened, or scared by it. With a 50cc engine, theres just enough power for your child. The best part about these engines is they can be governed. If you feel that the engine is still a little to powerful at first, and your child is smaller, or still just about 8 years old, these motors can be governed.

Governors can be added to most 50cc dirt bikes. Whats a governor you ask? A governor is something that is put on an engine to regulate how fast the vehicle will go. If you want to give your child a dirt bike, you can govern it, until you feel they are capable of controlling the vehicle to your liking.  Once that time comes, you can take off the governor very easily. Most governors are simply adjusted with a phillips head screw driver.

I feel when at a young age, the 50cc dirt bike is the perfect starting point for most children.
